An AI translation can read smoothly while missing a condition, changing an instruction or choosing the wrong product term. Bilingual review checks what the text means, not just how it sounds.
Send both the original and the generated translation, plus the intended audience and publishing context. We assess a sample to decide whether post-editing is appropriate or whether translating again would be the better route.
Agree the depth of the review
Machine translation post-editing, often shortened to MTPE, is the professional correction of machine-generated translation. The review depth should match the use: internal reference and public-facing publication do not carry the same expectations. A quote states the agreed checks and deliverables.
- Meaning, completeness, omissions and unsupported additions
- Names, numbers, units, dates and terminology
- Tone, register and natural target-language phrasing
- Variables, tags and formatting where included in scope
- Unclear source passages and questions requiring your decision
A handover you can act on
Choose a clean corrected file, tracked changes where the format supports them, or a review summary alongside the text. For repeated batches, we can record recurring terminology decisions and the issues your team should watch for.
We do not automatically send your files to another AI service. Your confidentiality requirements and any restrictions on generative AI are agreed before work begins.
When starting again is more efficient
If the draft contains extensive meaning errors, missing sections or inconsistent terminology, correction may take as much work as a new translation. We flag this when assessing the material. Post-editing is not a fixed percentage discount, and human review cannot compensate for missing context that only you can provide.

Can you check a DeepL or ChatGPT translation?
Yes. Provide the source, the generated output and any terminology or style requirements. We evaluate the text itself and agree the appropriate review, regardless of the tool that produced it.
Do you need the original text?
Yes, for a bilingual accuracy review. Without the source, we can discuss target-language editing, but that cannot establish whether the translation preserves the original meaning.
Is a sample review free?
Send a short sample for scoping. We will confirm whether any requested assessment or editing is a paid task before starting; a scoping sample is not a promise of free production work.
Can you review sensitive material?
Explain the confidentiality requirements first. We agree access, approved tools and handling arrangements before you share restricted content.
