From one translator to a specialist network
Joel founded Cross Border Translation in March 2008 as a translator registered in the Netherlands. Collaboration with freelance translators, editors and project managers gradually expanded the work into a coordinated language network.
In August 2023, Cross Border Translation Ltd was established in the United Kingdom. Our Dutch roots remain part of our history; today we work remotely with clients and language specialists across borders. Our London address is for correspondence.
The same name, a wider range of support
Translation remains at the centre of what we do. Clients can also ask for review of AI-generated translations, localization of learning and media content, and support with multilingual websites.
You may have seen the description “Cross Border Language Integration Services” or CBLIS in earlier materials. Our customer-facing name is Cross Border Translation. The broader description refers to connected language services, not a requirement to change the way you work with us.
Existing clients can keep working as usual
Continue to use your usual project contact and agreed ordering process. Our website enquiries reach the same published contact email, info@crossbordertranslation.nl.
A new service does not change an existing agreement. Tell us your requirements for human translation, independent review, approved tools and confidentiality. We agree the workflow for your project with you.
What we put into each working relationship
- A clear brief and honest confirmation of availability
- Language and subject requirements considered before acceptance
- Terminology, source queries and review handled deliberately
- A defined handover and a practical route for feedback
- Technology used within the requirements agreed with you
