Map one complete customer journey
Choose a target market and a small set of pages that work together. A service page needs navigation, contact options and relevant supporting information in a language the customer can use.
Create an inventory of URLs, page purpose, source status and ownership. Include page titles, descriptions, form labels, validation messages, image text and transactional messages where they are part of the journey.
Research local wording before finalizing the copy
Literal translation of an English heading may not reflect how buyers describe the service in another language. Collect the vocabulary used by customers and relevant local providers, then validate important terms with country-specific search data where available.
Keep one principal topic per page. Use related expressions naturally in helpful explanations. Do not create a separate page for every minor wording variation.
Give each language a clear home
Google recommends separate URLs for different language versions. Where pages are true equivalents, language annotations can help Google understand the relationship. Each edition should have useful content and navigation rather than redirecting every language link to an English homepage.
Confirm the canonical URL, language alternates and internal links with the developer. If an existing page moves, map its old address directly to the closest relevant new page.
- Published target-language copy at a stable URL
- A meaningful title and description for each page
- Language navigation linking true equivalents
- A sitemap containing the intended canonical URLs
- Working contact and enquiry routes
Review the assembled website
Review in staging after the text is inserted. Check headings, button labels, menu wrapping, form errors and mobile layout. Confirm that language-specific content is available in the delivered HTML and that important information is not hidden behind an interaction.
Google’s AI search guidance also emphasizes normal search eligibility and useful, accessible content. There is no separate piece of “AI copy” that replaces a clear page and a sound implementation.
Define the handover and maintenance
List who approves the language, who publishes, who checks the live pages and who updates translations when the source changes. A launch checklist should include form delivery, status codes, redirects and analytics checks.
Start with a bounded pilot if the workflow is new. Measure enquiries and qualified opportunities as well as visits. Translated pages need time, distribution and relevant evidence to earn visibility.
